Advanced Media Production
IVS's
professionals assist faculty in the design, production, and evaluation of
a wide range of video materials for instruction. They consult with faculty
to most effectively apply television's strengths and produce high quality
video instruction. This may include art work, electronic graphics, field and
library video inserts, etc. Our facilities include multi-media classrooms,
studio and field recording, editing and post production services.
Video Encyclopedia
IVS
has a library of video resources containing 2,300 entries for use in campus
courses. Images in the Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century are on laser
disk and may be copied to videotape for use in campus classrooms. Faculty
may call Marlene Wilkins to
inquire about general content areas in the encyclopedia. You may also make
an appointment
to check the encyclopedia's index or view segments from the laser disks.
The encyclopedia's computerized indexing system can search such themes as
major
speeches, war and the military, social history, and entertainment. Searches
can be narrowed by using cross index pathways. The encyclopedia's limited
license does not permit the use of images off campus or in web courses.
